Carrying countertop

I need to carry a 2'x8'x1.75" countertop (pine, not too heavy) on a distance of 8 km. It will of course hang (about 2 feet) outside of the trunk. On another car, I would simply tie the trunk shut and not think about it but on this Tesla, is it possible? How will the automatic closer handle that?

Fold your front seat to full recline or full forward. Should be able to slide the countertop further forward and close the trunk.

Yeah, I've brought home a half dozen 8ft 2x4s in mine. Wrap it in a blanket to avoid scratching anything up in the car. Bring a friend in the passenger seat to hold it steady. No hard stops or you'll smash your screen.

Checked and the seat do not fold enough in both directions to allow the countertop to fully fit in. I have someone with a RAV4 that will bring the countertop here. I wish Tesla would certify the use of tow packages in NA like they do in EU.
