To my eyes (and also to my 'phone camera, see attached image) the distance to cars in the dash display seems far longer than the distance as seen in the real world through the windshield.

    Has anyone else notice this?

How should I report this to Telsa?

Interesting observation. However I'm seeing quite the opposite. It appears there is maybe a 1.5 inch gap between the cars on the dash, but real world is probably 60 ft! Troubling...

Nobody ever said that the dash display was an accurate to-scale representation. What's important is that the car behaves in the real world like you'd expect.

It's about the same in AP1. Definitely "not to scale".

Definitely not to scale on dash or back camera for me. I just got used to the distance and adjusted my expectations.

The dash display is not a synthetic vision presentation (which mimics what you would see looking out the window). Rather it is a representation of what is being detected and what the autopilot is doing (i.e., driving based on lines or following car ahead, speed based on car ahead or something else, etc.). A to-scale, synthetic vision presentation would require a lot more screen real-estate in order to present information in a useful manner in all use-cases from stopped through highway speeds/distances.

You're looking out of the car at a different angle. You can see the roof of tour car in the display.

Funny...sure...and with the same success rate someone using the Foreflight synthetic vision to fly a canyon LLTR would have! :)
