If you can be without a car for a couple months that would probably be great. I recommend ordering first to see what your delivery time is and plan accordingly. There are plenty of people doing this.
Yea agree! My wife is more than happy with the LR, and ideally I'd just order another one but lead times are October-Jan 2023. MYP is June. We could rent a car for a few months...
go to you your closest tesla SC and ask to be put on a short list. i did that 10 days ago. they called 2 days later with 2 MYP that 1) person buying was out of the country and 2) wife hated the white seats. came home with a model YP that same day. sell that car! very good deal.
It's tempting to sell, but I would probably want to buy the same car again. Since the new price is only 5k less than the used price they are offering I would only make 5k (no sales EV tax in NJ). Not sure if that's worth the wait.
Yes, for the LR it would be a long wait. I have not decided what I'll do, was just very surprised at the offer given I have looked at this a few times in the last 6 months.
I have my Model Y on order, but I got 47,320 for a 2019 LR Dual Motor Model 3 with 27,000 miles. I paid 51,000. Values are crazy high for Teslas in general.
It is about supply and demand. The performance is not as much in demand as the long range is. The biggest reason that Tesla sells as many as they do is delivery time

Nah. Pretty sure Carvana buying algorithm has a bug and screws up. Look at the Teslas they have for sale. 2021 MYLR is going for around 66k and MYP is 72k, which seems like a reasonable gap. But Carvana is paying over 68k to get the same MYLR to sell at 66k? Pretty sure they screw up on the offering. If you are thinking about selling MYLR I would do it soon before they correct the mistake.
I don’t think this is a bug at all. It is absolutely supply and demand. They can afford thin margins on cars that sell themselves. Not to mention Tesla is continuing to raise prices and drag out delivery estimates based on current supply chain issues - this only makes your used car that much more valuable. Especially one that everyone wants.
