Cash back on trade in?

I'm getting over $50k on my trade so I'm wondering if Tesla will allow me to take back some of that as cash so I can finance more? I'd rather take the low interest and invest more of it. But I don't want to make it too complicated with Tesla and have them screw something up. If not I can get equal value at a carmax.

How did it work out for you? I am being told I can have an $18K cash back, but am worried because they are saying it will be 6-8 weeks to get the check in the mail.

I ended up selling to a private party but Tesla said they will cut you a check if you "over pay". They said it takes a couple months though. This was in December '21.

Yeah, same here, I ended up calling them and they said it will take two months to get paid, I then checked with carmax and even though they offered $900 less for the car, they cut the check on the spot. I ended up going that route.
