Cash for Clunkers?

Sounds like Ford is gonna start pushing for this program again, i saw Chuckie Shumer was looking into a cash for clunker to EV. I really wonder how this may work with Tesla, especially since I recently pushed back my delivery due to the state of the economy. Let's start a new thread and let 'er rip!

You know darn well that Tesla won't qualify for any of this money for they do not have a dealer network. it will get so red taped in such a way that Tesla wont' see any of it.

Since a new Pickup gets better mileage than my old Truck I would get a new one. I'm interested but only if I get double the value of my old truck toward the purchase of a new one

Sure Ford want's the government to throw them a bone, but in the process is all the American's that can't afford new car payments, suffer in higher rates of used parts or vehicles. Why is it that the same group of lawmakers insist on making life harder for the people that vote them in office? The rules of this cash for clunker on destroying engines was just so wrong.

Cash for clunkers was idiotic as most big government programs are.

It took perfectly good 90s cars off the road and left the 1987 caravan that poured blue smoke from every stop on the road.

It is a handout for the "rich" who can afford a new vehicle and the big companies who want to sell vehicles.

Sure it took some true "clunkers" off the road. But for those owners who maintain their cars in great condition, it also has often made the spare parts supply MUCH more difficult. For example, I own a 1990 Buick, in outstanding condition, whose ABS sensors and other braking system parts are getting to be near impossible to find NOS. Same system was used in Cadillacs - but a huge number of those fell victim to C4C... With fewer of a particular model of car on the road, parts suppliers have had less incentive to manufacture the parts.

If people were removed from the Earth it would return to its natural and beautiful state.

the pictures of LA skyline after the rain the other day was amazing. though the canals of venice was debunked, it was a picture from somewhere else that always had fish and was clear
