Cautionary Tale - Buying a used Tesla from a used car Dealer

My co-worker eventually got his Tesla fixed after BMW dealer finally honored it's CPO warranty. But it took hiring a lawyer and serving the dealer with the threat of legal action before they did anything.

I don't think this story is EV specific. Plenty of people have been getting burned buying used cars, EV and ICE. Plenty of dealers try to weasel out of responsibility too. Long time ago I had a friend who bought a used ICE car, drove off the lot, on her way home she turned the car but only 3 of the 4 wheels turned with the car, the 4th just kept on rolling through the intersection. Took 6 months and some lawyers to get a refund. At first, the dealer tried to blame it on the driver, then it turned out the mechanic who certified the car was nowhere to be found, etc, etc. Sadly, there are dishonest people out there. At lest in this story, the dealer owned up to their mistake (or at least paid for it).

On a side note, I am surprised there was no warnings. Whenever I disconnected any of the senors when "improving" my Tesla car , there was always warnings.
