CCS1 to Tesla adapter from Hansshow — why not model S?

I just received a CCS1 to Teslqa adapter.
Now I see where they say "model 3 and Y only".
Must have missed that when I ordered.

Question is why not the S?
It looks to be a passive device so trying to understand why the S would be different?

Any comments would be appreciated.

Thx

As @zanary said, the device itself is passive, but the hardware inside vehicles manufactured prior to 2020 do not have the Power Line Communication chip needed to communicate via the protocol necessary to manage the CSS1 connection.

Currently, there's no retrofit, and frankly I'm not sure if we'll see one any time soon (if at all) for legacy cars.

From what I've seen, though, the rate of charge isn't incredibly impressive even with new cars (only up to 120 kW), so not much loss there at this point.
