A sTesla seems to be increasingly distinct in using cylindircal cells, are others making a mistake by mostly using Prismatic cells eg Jaguar iPace?

Or is Telsa committed to cylindical cells for historical reasons and reluctant to change solely due to tooling setup costs?

what are the advantages/disavantages of each cell type in terms of
    power to weight
    thermal management in pack design
    longeivity aka degradation
    fire risk or control
    manufacturing cost/KWH

and does one type emerge overall leader?

asking as others here are far more aware of the technicalities; but for sure Tesla seems to be carving a different path from most with this.

Cylindrical have better heat dissipation (volume to surface area) than large (thick) format cells. They also do not require external compression. Multiple smaller cells increase fault tolerance and safety, each cell is individually contained and fused.
