Center Console

I have noticed that even though my center console closes and latches, the interior light does not turn off. Has anyone noticed that and if so, what did you do to resolve it?

I had a tech come out to look at it but he was not able to resolve it and said they may need to order a whole new center console which I declined to do. It does not affect anything or drain the battery and it goes off when the car locks, just odd.

Are you sure it doesn't turn off? I thought the same thing, but I checked at night and found that it did turn off when it was about 1/8" from fully closed.

Yes, I have checked a couple times and I didn’t notice it until driving at night with the console shut.

Why didn't you have them replace the center console? This is a warranty repair issue and they should resolve it for you.

Isn't that like checking to see if the light in the fridge goes off when you shut the door?

Light bleed from cracks/seams in total darkness possibly.

For a fridge, put your phone on video record and put it in then close fridge door.

Set your smart phone to record video, place smart phone in the console where it will capture the light (or lack of light), close the lid.
