Some Tesla owners get paint protection film, some go with ceramic coating, and others choose a combo. Everyone thinks they’ve made the best decision, but have they really? Honestly, yes. Separately or combined, PPF and ceramic are major protective upgrades for your Tesla’s standard factory finish. What’s best really depends on what you want most...

Both should be done by a trained installer but I would say coating would be less technique-sensitive. From a purely cost perspective coatings cost less, but you have to weigh that to benefits. It really depends on what you are looking for!

    Hey @SunTek

From the Suntek website: " If you choose to still have SunTek Paint Protection Film installed over fresh paint, the common waiting period is 30 days for the paint to outgas."

If I take delivery of a brand new Tesla, does that mean I should wait a while before getting the PPF installed? What's the risk of *not* waiting 30 days for the paint to outgas?

    Thx.

    Hi Neil,

There is no need to wait for an OEM painted vehicle, you can apply SunTek PPF upon delivery! The ~30 day wait is for paint repairs, body shop work, etc. We stand behind our film and it being removed from OEM paint as we are familiar with the quality of the paint work from OEMs.

The risk of applying PPF too soon to an after market paint job is the paint can still be outgassing and bubbles can appear between the paint and the film.

Hopefully this answers your question! Thank you!
