CHAdeMO adapter shipping?!?! (Unconfirmed)

While I've been on the wait list longer then most (I think I was #30 or so on the list), don't pass insideev's off getting a scoop so early. They have about 6 writers or so, and a couple of those writers have connections, as well as a few talk with people like me regularly to get scoops as soon as they come out.

Unfortunately, I have not been contacted by tesla about getting a adapter yet.

I think what you're missing is that Tesla is not shipping these yet in the US. Their 'scoop' is not a scoop, but rather misinformation. Perhaps they got the picture from someone in Japan, or one of the loaned ones, or one of the ones that was under beta testing (a few were out last summer and used by TeslaRoadTrip). But those of us who have talked directly with Tesla (see my post above, along with other people) have every reason to believe these are not shipping.

Think about it. If these WERE shipping in the US, do you really think the loaner adapters for the Tennessee group would have had to go such creative routes? People within Tesla pulled some a lot of strings to find those - and then we had to get them back right away because they were already promised to another market. Definitely none for the US market as of a week ago.

During the opening of the Montreal Tesla Store / Service Center (the biggest in North America!) the availability of the CHAdeMO adaptor was THE question: WHEN???

Since Jerome Guillen was there, I directly asked him. I took the time to explain him that the «available soon» is posted since 18 months!! Especially that I spotted hundreds of CHAdeMO adaptors boxes during my Fremont visit in October!

He responded that it will be officially commercialized in North America in January 2015 FOR SURE! He even authorized me to cite him.
