CHAdeMO adapter wait frustration

I know it's redundant but I got the e-mail yesterday morning and I've been on the list about a year.

Placed my order this morning even though I'll probably never use it and reviews have been mixed.

In your case I would wait to order. By the time you need to use the device it will be available in the store with improved firmware.afaik, you cannot update the firmware remotely.

Worth the Wait

We have had our adapter for about four weeks and used it six times with the Aerovironment and ChargePoint L3 systems. This device would have been worth the original $1,000 price that I signed on to the wait list for. We have experienced no issues and enjoyed up to 150 miles Rater Range gain per hour of charge. The beauty of this is that we now can spend about 45 minutes charging at L3 on a round trip from Wenatchee to Everett, WA. This is a 312 mile route that crosses the Cascades at Stevens Pass elevation 4160 feet above sea level. With L2 (30A) we would be connected for about eight hours to have enough Rated Miles to make the return leg of the trip.

I just received the invitation. Previously, I had received word that I was about #630 on the North American list. I am traveling, so I figuring out where I can accept delivery.

Yes, there's the choice to add Supercharging or just CHAdeMO charging. (These choices were there for me, though I obviously didn't need them).

Just an option for fast charging that does not apply with an 85 that already has Supercharging enabled.

No problem - in hindsight I should've gotten it. I just thought they had updated the site to allow you to order and get on the waitlist without having to call them.

I was added to the list in August 2014, was told I was 520 on the list and got the email and ordered this afternoon. Already have a tracking number and expecting it early next week.

Just got the email with the order link. Was added in November 2014 (can't remember exact date) and never asked what number I was waitlisted at - sorry this isn't very helpful...

Now I have to decide whether it's worth getting the darn thing! :tongue:

I live in southern CA and I even found the Chademo adapter useful. It is a great backup if nothing else.

This is why I bought the adapter...no real Chademo infrastructure in my area as we speak, but I'm sure it will bail me out sometime in he future (when travelling on roadtrips)...better safe, right?

How is this for frustration? My CHAdeMO adapter arrives today in Colorado, but I am spending the weekend near a CHAdeMO on the beach north of San Diego. Plenty of other options, but it would have been fun to use the CHAdeMO on the SoCal coast...
