Changing my order - what is involved?

Made the mistake of looking at a thread on window tints. The vendor posted dozens of picture of cars (all M3). Great pictures...

Suddenly I realized that I gotta have the 19" sport wheels instead of the 18" aero wheels. They just look right (to me) on a red car.

I placed my order on July 11. No VIN number yet or any texts from Tesla. The expected delivery was 4 to 8 weeks. I'm now at week 5. What do I need to do to change my order to get the 19" sport wheels instead of the 18" aero wheels?

Get to the Tesla web site, click on "Tesla Account" or Sign in" (sometimes it says one, sometimes it says the other), and navigate to where you can modify your order.

Thanks for the reply.

My account does not show any way to modify the order. I can view the design details but there is no way to make a change. There is a "cancel order request" - which I don't want to do. :)

Maybe the order is too far along. Guess I will call (or text) my service advisor on Monday.

If your "Manage your order" page shows
"Next Steps
"We are drafting up your contract and will contact you when you can make your final payment."

Then it's too late.

if not, on the right side, just below "View Design Details" should be a button to allow you to change your order.

As far as I understand, contacting a sales representative is the only way you can change an order at this stage. They will submit a change request on your behalf and you will receive a change confirmation email. Not sure if the change will alter your delivery deadline, but it likely will.

Well that sounds easy but I'm not having any luck.

Sent an email on Saturday (3 days ago), no response.
Called today and the phone number is not a working number (Tesla message). This phone number was listed on the second email I got from Tesla. She is (or was) the "Inside Delivery Specialist".

What do I do next? Cancel the order and start over?

Not true. Mine said this 2 days after I ordered (last week) and I was able to change the color from black to gray without issue.

This. When in doubt, call.

Yes I could change it right after I put in the order. And I could have changed it several weeks later (by using the Tesla account). But then that changed and the order was locked after about a month.

I called my sales coordinator and the phone number was a non-working number. Email didn't work either. Ended up calling the local sales guy that set upmy test drive. He fixed it immediately. My order date was changed to that date.

So the order screen locks the options at some point.
