Plug-In NCW and the Wenatchee Electric Vehicle Association are sponsoring a demonstration drive this Spring. "Charge across Washington" is planned to highlight that an EV80 can now drive from Everett to Spokane along recently electrified US Highway 2. Our driver team, Wendy and Ed are brand new Leaf owners as of 2016 and their car "Bean" is the machine. The Mayor of Everett will send them off on the 7th of June with a letter to the Mayor of Spokane. We are organizing EV introduction events at the charging stops along the way. Our destination is the historic Montvale Hotel in Spokane. "Bean" can get a L2 charge while Ed and Wendy get some rest in one of their exceptionally nice rooms.

Can you help us? We really would like many Spokane area EVs to meet "Bean" and her drivers while they charge at Davenport, WA so that local residents that come by can see and talk to real EV drivers and hear about their experiences, challenges and triumphs. We also would like to have as many EV drivers as we can at the Montvale Hotel, Spokane, WA for the reception. So, we are not asking for your money, but we are asking for something more valuable, your involvement. Stay up to date with our plans at: www.pluginncw.com and my postings here. PM or post here and I will respond. Also, the full EVent schedule is available at:

Pick a location to join us and "get" free tickets so we can anticipate what types of EV and how many will be on display at each stop. We are spending some advertising money around each location to draw local residents. Plug-In NCW will host a social hour at the Montvale Hotel with a non-hosted dinner to follow. Hope to see you along the highway...

GoLakeChelan is our media company for documenting Charge across Washington and we have decided on "History of Highway 2 and its Communities" as the background theme. County museums and visitor centers are starting to provide us information and we are collecting names for interviews. If you know someone who worked on Highway 2 or has an interesting story about any of the points along the route please let us know.

Spokane Reception: at the Scratch Restaurant and Lounge: Plug-In NCW will host a reception the transition to a non-hosted dinner.

About the Scratch:

This classy little restaurant deems cooking from scratch with fresh local ingredients so important that it named itself…Scratch! The two owners bring a wealth of culinary experience and a passion for food that has garneted the restaurant rave reviews since it opened in 2007.
Located in the historic Davenport District, Scratch is nestled in an old brick building right below the boutique Montvale Hotel. The warm brick of the walls is classically complemented with crisp white linens and black décor. A large open kitchen brings the wafting aromas of delectable ingredients being made into cuisine delights.
The contemporary American fare at Scratch perfectly marries the highest quality seasonal ingredients with the nuance of complementing and contrasting flavors and textures. Start a meal with a bowl of homemade soup like the rich Crab Chowder or make it a full meal with the Scratch Hot Pot of seasoned seafood and andouille sausage in a spicy tomato broth. Caesar Salads are tossed fresh from scratch right at your table.
Entrees range from lunches of Kobe Beef or Buffalo Burgers to a Mexican Sirloin Taco, a Citrus Chicken Sandwich and an exotic Asian Ruben. For dinner, diners make a difficult choice between a French Hanger Steak, Veal Tongue, Duck Breast or Italian Vegetable Tian. Fresh seafood offerings include Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna, Dungeness Crab Trio, succulent Seafood Bucatini or champagne poached Wild Salmon. Now just how do you choose? But no matter what your entrée choice is be sure to leave room for a made from scratch succulent Scratch desert!
