Charge port flap - sticks out?

The tesla service guys said that this was normal, but I swear it wasn't like this previously. Does your flap close all the way with no discernible gap?

I will when I get the car back. It's at service for some software issues I've been experiencing. Basically it isn't flush.

Mine is not flush either. I will have them take a look at it when I go in next week for a service appointment.

I also found my charge port not flushed recently. It was pretty flushed at least a month ago. Not sure why.

Mine is not flush either.

Mine was not flush when I inspected the car pre-delivery yesterday... will be interested to see if its better after they prep the vehicle

Mine is not and was never “flush”. Granted it’s not sticking out more than a few millimeters and you wouldn’t know unless you were looking right at that spot. From what I have read in previous posts, they’ll say that it’s within specs most likely but maybe they’ve changed their attitude on it in the past few months.

As expected I was told it sticks out a tiny bit so you can press to open - I've seen a lot that look like mine so fwiw it seems to be the standard.. pics would help

I asked about mine and the manager was polite, but you could tell he gets this question all the time. He simply pointed to all the other cars around me to indicate it was normal.

I think I just didn't notice it before. Although now I'm questioning whether my press to open option works correctly. :/

It’s normal from the standpoint that fittment is inconsistent on the Model 3. After delivery I noticed mine stuck out quite a bit. I finally took it in and the tech made an attempt to stay nothing was wrong. We then went to his Model 3 and it was flush. They replaced mine and it was close to flush but today it seems to be less so. The design is not great.

In short yes it is normal for the flap to stick out a bit but not what was intended.

This is annoying. It’s normal only in that it is consistently sub par.
