Charge port ring rainbow

Did a search but couldn't come up with an answer. When I open the charge port, the ring lights up White together with green and red while flickering. After I insert the charging handle, the color goes solid green and it starts charging, no more rainbow effects. I don't remember seeing all these colors before, but maybe I wasn't paying attention. Is this normal or does yours show a solid white ring before inserting the handle?

Nope. White = unlocked; blue = plugged in but not charging; green = charged or flashing, charging; yellow = not plugged in right; red = charging fault (circuit breaker flipped?)

Are there other colors? I've never seen rainbow.

Pressing the button 10 times while plugged in if I recall starts the rainbow colors.

... another easter egg I need to try apparently.

On my first visit I reported a bug in my car in that the "Don't Fear the Reaper/More cow bell" easter egg started randomly playing. The service rep told me I probably pulled the autopilot stick three times, which triggers this easter egg. He was probably right. To confirm, I did just that, and the car did the easter egg. Not only is a Tesla great transportation, but a great toy for us toy geeks.

Had the rainbow LED charge port way back in early days (2012 I think or early 2013), anyway, the lights were faulty and service center changed out the charge port.

My charge port was putting on a psychedelic color show occasionally while charging with the UMC this past fall. Cleaning the port and the UMC contacts with pipe cleaners and WD40 brand electric contract cleaner took care of the problem.
