Also an issue is that J1772 chargers are made by a wide variety of manufacturers. Schneider, in particular, seems to have Tesla seating problems. I have used many ChargePoint locations and have only had problems with two Schneider chargers. Both of those were fixed by the owners within a day or so of being reported. The problem in both cases was a pin slightly too short. This does not seem to be the OP's problem. Very often it takes a clear push to fully seat a J1772 on both sides, including in the Tesla port. I also carry spray electrical cleaner because many public charges seem to get dirty and need a good cleaning in order to seat properly. I have and that one in Superchargers and CHAdeMO also, usually when they were near construction sites.
