Charger - Payment pre-auths

Could I ask everyone if they know what the debit/credit card pre-authorisations are for third party charging networks?

I know this has been an issue for some (with high pre-auths on debit cards, locking up funds) - but this week Gridserve reduced theirs to £1 - tried it yesterday.

What is it at Instavolt, Fastned, or any of the other *decent* networks? Thanks

I know that BP take £30 then fail to return it and calculate your actual fee. Then they take weeks to reply to a support request, at which point they try to fob you off saying it's just a pending change (when you clearly told them that it wasn't). After a month and a dozen emails you get your £30 back.

Podpoint take £60 for their 50kw chargers. Or £120 when the terminal errors out and says try again and then fails to charge the car....

I have used gridserve and paid by applepay. Looking at my statement, I was only charged £1.

Shell £20
Osprey £5 or £29
Instavolt £15 or £30
BP Pulse £15 or £30
e.on £30
Fastned €35

Wow.

Out of interest, Instavolt T&C’s section 5.8 say a pre-auth might be held for 14 days. Their FAQ says 5-10 days.
