Just a short heads up to fellow travelers who may be planning on going through Reno, NV, and charging at the RV park behind the Grand Sierra Resort.
I drive to Reno every other month or so, to see my aging mother. I have always used Grand Sierra Resort. This last trip I was made to realize that the RV park does not want my business, nor does the hotel itself. I was charged nearly double the original agreed upon fee, and sent to a site almost at the farthest reaches of the park away from the hotel. They know I get a room at the hotel and then charge my car, usually less than half, probably less than $5 worth. My car was at that point nearly a half mile from the hotel desk, with heat, wind and sand blowing merrily.
When I requested to discuss perhaps the future installation of a 14-50 or a J plug, I was told to leave my information. I emailed when I got home, and have not had the courtesy of a reply.
I recommend charging at Stark and Assoc. on Double R in Reno. 70 and 80 amp J plug. There is a hotel right diagonally across the street, and the charging is free, thanks to Jack Bowers, friend and owner of Tesla Roadster and Model S.
I do not recommend patronizing Grand Sierra Resort and the associated RV Park. I have so listed at Recargo, but figured not everybody would look there.
Thanks, and have a safe trip. At least you'll be among friends.
