Charging at Reno, NV, Grand Sierra Resort RV park

Just a short heads up to fellow travelers who may be planning on going through Reno, NV, and charging at the RV park behind the Grand Sierra Resort.

I drive to Reno every other month or so, to see my aging mother. I have always used Grand Sierra Resort. This last trip I was made to realize that the RV park does not want my business, nor does the hotel itself. I was charged nearly double the original agreed upon fee, and sent to a site almost at the farthest reaches of the park away from the hotel. They know I get a room at the hotel and then charge my car, usually less than half, probably less than $5 worth. My car was at that point nearly a half mile from the hotel desk, with heat, wind and sand blowing merrily.

When I requested to discuss perhaps the future installation of a 14-50 or a J plug, I was told to leave my information. I emailed when I got home, and have not had the courtesy of a reply.

I recommend charging at Stark and Assoc. on Double R in Reno. 70 and 80 amp J plug. There is a hotel right diagonally across the street, and the charging is free, thanks to Jack Bowers, friend and owner of Tesla Roadster and Model S.

I do not recommend patronizing Grand Sierra Resort and the associated RV Park. I have so listed at Recargo, but figured not everybody would look there.

Thanks, and have a safe trip. At least you'll be among friends.

are you referring to the 6 slot super charger at the Atlantis casino resort? with so many Teslas out there I fear this might be a long wait line.

Is there any other charging options at GSR? Destination chargers and chargepoint are slow and will fill up for hours.

Anyone have any suggestions to a hotel in Reno?.....I am driving from Portland to Vegas and Reno is going to be my overnight stop.
Lots of HPWCs at Peppermill. Supercharger at Atlantis. Both are average to luxury hotels depending on which tower you stay in. The downtown supercharger is also near a lot of hotels. Would only recommend Silver Legacy or Eldorado unless you want to slum it. Added bonus that you can get from the supercharger to either hotel without walking the streets, which might come in handy if it's late at night. It isn't really that dangerous in my experience, but it definitely looks sketchy down there at times.
