Well my wife ran over the charging cable (Connected to the Tesla wall charger), and the actual "connector" is broken. Is there a replacement available for the cable with the connector?...sigh...
They aren't sold separately, but its actually a very easy thing to change. The in-the-base ends are just three screws and a slide-in connector. Couldn't hurt to call Tesla, they may take pity on you and either swap the body or send you a new cord for some dough. If its a -F unit you could always say it was overheating.
You are probably screwed(no pun intended). Can you supply a picture?
Additionally, if you get a new whole assembly($500), you don't need to change the base so its an easy DIY without an electrician. Wonder if you could even claim the charging station tax credit again. Between the $150 on the credit and the $65 valued base you can resell, you are down to $300. Additionally, the base isn't useless either.
You could even part it out or sell the whole unit and make a bit. I imagine there are some folks who would like to make a ~36' cable for their Gen3 and an 18 foot donor cord with a bad handle would have some value to them.
