Charging confusion

This site may earn commission on affiliate links.
I read things that say that I should charge my model 3 every night. Others say that I should charge every few days so long as the charge level is above 20%. Some things say not to charge above 80% unless on a trip. Others say anything up to 90% is good for daily use. The more I read the more confused I am. Is there an actual answer.

Yes, it’s in your owners manual.

"There is no advantage to waiting ..."
At 0 deg C my S60 is using 0.7 kwh to heat the HV battery, 0.7 kwh to charge the HV battery and 0.3 kwh in 'losses', so Teslas recommendation is extremely inefficient at low temperatures.

Charging at such a low power rate is extremely inefficient, period.

Sounds like there’s doubly no advantage to waiting in the cold when charging at level 1 speeds… best to do it immediately upon return when the battery is warm.
