Charging habits?

I just got my Y this past week, and want to set good charging habits. Do people plug it in every night, or wait for it to get low before charging? I imagined charging every night to have a “full tank” every day. But, now that I have it I am leaning toward letting it get low before recharging so the batteries are not repeatedly kept at 60-75%.

Plugging in every night is healthy for the battery. I personally don't, but would recommend it. Tesla recommends this as well.

Tesla recommends Charging daily to no more than 90%.

They are smarter than me so that's normally what we do.

There are trade offs.
Charging daily to 70% might be slightly better than daily 90% for long term pack health.
Thing is though daily 90% keeps the cells better balanced. Lack of balance can make it look like the pack is degrading.

So the answer really seems to hinge on what are you ok with hand wringing about later

Daily charge to 80. Set it and forget it!
