Charging port opens automatically

How do I prevent the charging port door to open when I hand car wash the model 3? Soon as I get close the door opens automatically. And is it ok for some water and or soap get inside? Thanks

i guess that will work also...but i am at home and not running thru the car wash..just hand washing

I just lock the car when hand washing. The charge port won't open if the car is locked.

Also make sure your phone is not in your pocket or turn off bluetooth to prevent the unlock upon approach so the car stays locked.
