Gawd, I’m keeping this flame alive, but this is my last time! I think this is my fifth(?) kick at the can here. I just grabbed September after August came and went. The rest of the year is still open to pick. Remember, this thing has to make all the way through re entry to count.

Nah. This is just a standard response from a regulator. "No dessert until you eat your vegetables" They always sound passive aggressive because they're enforcing somebody else's rules.

I wish I could find the mishap report from SpaceX and/or the corrective actions list from the FAA. Nobody seems to be reporting on either of them in detail, so I guess nobody has seen them. The only thing I found that's official was that back in July, the FAA was directed to report on Starship to the congressional Committee on Appropriations before allowing any launches.
