Tesla Motors Club

I did watch it on TV.

Jim Lentz - Charlie Rose

It's not a MUST watch but it does make you step back a bit and think about the bigger picture (e.g. automaker that moves over 8 million vehicles/year worldwide vs. a niche automaker) and that almost exclusively does ICEVs, where the desired product mix varies depending on gas prices. Hybrids, EVs and hydrogen FCEVs were touched upon. Obviously, most of us here don't agree w/them chasing after hydrogen FCEVs and poo-pooing EVs.

For those unaware of the low uptake of EVs and even hybrids in the US that he cites, see September 2016 Dashboard - HybridCars.com. Last month in the US, hybrid take rate was 2.19%, PHEV was 0.42% and BEV was 0.70%. So, over 96% of automobiles sold last month in the US were pure ICEVs and over 98% didn't have a plug. (It doesn't feel like that at all in the skewed environment of the SF Bay Area and California, in general.)
