Model 3 just got delivered last week. Very pleased with the car. Doing some planning on how I best protect the investment from my toddlers.

Anyone have any seat covers or protectors for back of driver and passenger seats that look nice and work well in Model 3?

Any other tips from parents?

This isn't perfect, but does the job.

Rear Seat Cover?

I'm not fond of those individual covers anymore as things always seem to drop and get underneath. Looking for one to cover the entire row now.

Also, maybe some clear ppf applied to the bottom metal door sill to protect it from kids shoes.

I use these for the seat backs, so far they work great and I was able to push the straps into the cracks in the seats so that they don't show. The kids love the storage pockets.

And these for under the booster seats:

The biggest problem I had was problems with the booster seats covering the seat belt buckles, but I was able to solve that problem with these: Tesla Model 3 Seat Belt Extender

The first two are exactly what I have, and so far, so good. I haven't bought the seat belt extender but I may get a pair. Technically don't need it with our booster seat and car seat. But having one should certainly make buckling/unbuckling a bit more convenient.

Beware of sun bleaching if you use seat covers. Once you take out the seat covers for washing or cleaning, you would realized that area covered by the seat covers are so much darker than the rest. But maybe this is only a thing for California.

What length seat belt extender did you get? I went with the rigid 3" and it's made buckling much easier for my daughter. Just wondering if I should have went 5" or even the flexible.

I've put towels underneath the car seats right now, one booster and one convertible but might think about some of these more robust options.

I was going to use an extender so my 5 year old could buckle herself in, but I saw in the manual it says not to use extenders with booster seats, and the seatbeltextenderpros website says to not use it with child restraints...so I'm hesitant to use it. Even though I'm sure it's just legalese.

I got the same (rigid 3").

Just a guess - maybe because it effectively disables the seatbelt warnings?

Here is what I use.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00P9EJGR0/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 For back of front seats.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AYTL3L6/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 under car seats. These are nice because they cover where their legs kick and have little pouches for trash or toys. I used towels in my last car but they look ratty pretty quickly.

I use seatbelt extenders. They do disable the seatbelt warning but the Model 3 rear seat buckles are super hard to use otherwise, even if I help. +1 on the maxpiders

Yeah the rear seat belt latches are poorly designed. Even for an adult they aren't great but when you add in a booster seat it's effectively childproof. My daughter (and I) is happy with how the rigid 3" extender works. Easy for her to latch and unlatch and there haven't been any cases of the belt popping out.

Another thing I've done is to use some helicopter tape and have applied it along the door sil areas, specifically the weather seal that is inboard of where it contacts the door and then all along the plastic trim. My kids seem to use this as a step so I think this will go a long way towards protecting that area. I ran out of tape so didn't get to apply it to the body outboard of the door seal but have some so will do that also. I use the helicopter tape on my bikes and it is very durable and if applied well to a clean surface not very visible. I'm sure there are some auto type wrap products that would be as effective also. Here's the tape I used https://www.amazon.com/ISC-Racers-T...3422458&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=racer+tape&th=1

Hopefully your kids don't find out that the floorboard sounds like a tin can when they step/tap on it or you will be hearing that a lot...

LOL. My 3 does have the tinny sound there but so far it's been a non issue in daily use with them getting in and out. I expect that once my Maxpider floor mats come in it will be even less of an issue.

Can you post a picture of what that looks like?
