    There were discussion with California officials to possibly link the two trading systems.

    Those saying we can't do this because the Chinese weren't doing it have a much smaller stool to stand on these days. Maybe we can't do it now because Burkina Faso is the last cap and trade holdout :wink:

    It sounds like those arguing "China won't do it" will need to find a new argument.

    China has to do this anyway, you can't even breath in their major cities. Might as well get the US to go along.

    The issue of smog and particulates, though, doesn't require carbon regulation. This move by China is a big deal and puts it in a strong leadership position going into the Paris conference.
