Not sure where to post, but I am going to be taking an old school GM car and plan on swapping either all of a P85D drivetrain (AWD) or a M3PD (AWD) drivetrain over. I plan on mounting the factory Tesla battery pack under the car just like Tesla does. I'm looking for dimensions of battery packs to see what platform would be easier to work with the size limitations of the car. Can anyone point me to this? The front and rear subframes/cradles won't be too difficult, I would like to figure out the battery pack size though. If there is another more active EV swap forum that anyone knows of I'd love a link. Thanks
Hi Rob, I have very similar plans as you. Here is a link for a single module with its dimensions. Which car are you planning to go with? Alex EVTV Motor Verks Store: Tesla Model S Battery Module, Tesla Model S Battery Modules, TeslaBattModule
> Tesla battery pack under the car This is ambitious indeed and doable since low-riders can drop ground clearance as much as they do yet they don't mind scraping tarmac here and there. Spark pack is much smaller yet still in its own protective steel box so these could be stuffed here and there in your GM body. --
This forum is pretty good: DIY Electric Car Forums - Electric Vehicle Build and Conversion Community I'm putting a Leaf into a classic Mini and this forum has been helpful. The EV conversion community is pretty disparate, though.
