Clicking/creaking front door hinges

Does anyone else get several clicks/creaks when closing the front doors? I've isolated it to the center hinge (touch it when moving the door and you can feel the clicking) and lubed/greased the crap out of that hinge and the others, but no change to the clicking sound. Suggestions?

Call the Service Center --- there is a known issue with something called a "Check Strap" --- free replacement.

Makes the car sound like it's 20yrs old.

Once replaced -- good as new!

Interesting, just looked up 'Check Strap' in the parts catalog and indeed the Check Strap is the middle hinge. Were both of yours bad too? I read in a Model S thread that this can be done by mobile service, so we'll see.

Sadly Tesla has not redesigned this part (check strap, door stop/brake) in 6 years+ and it keeps failing and will keep on failing (just a matter of time until a new one/set fails).

The Model Y parts are not confirmed to be any better or to be compatible with the 3, which further compounds the issue of a lack of a problem-free replacement.

As others have said, the check strap going bad is one thing, then there is also excess flex in the door panels that can be present or develop and that would require a door replacement. No thanks.
