Clicking sound from trunk electric motor?

Just wondering if anyone else hears grinding or clicking sound from trunk closing mechanism on their X (or S). We got our X today, delivery specialist told me its supposed to sound diff than doors, but it sure doesn't sound right... My wife's 30k mercedes trunk motor sounded better... And I've never heard this sound from model S trunks...

is it just me, or is the service dept very unresponsive? i tried calling and no one picks up. i left voice messages, and no one calls back?
I bet they are very overwhelmed right now with all the new deliveries and 3rd quarter push / production ramp. This seems to be the stretching point for Tesla as they grow into a bigger company than just a niche automaker. Hopefully they'll hire adequate staff sooner than later to keep up but I'm not extremely concerned for now. Just thinking out loud. Also thanks for replies everyone I'm now less worried about the trunk.

How's your car ? I got mine last Friday and I love it. I hear a small clicking sound when I open the front door or FWD. it seems to come from under the car
. The SC says it's normal and told me it's fine. ( he sound isn't loud I won't hear it if there is noise around me)

I have always thought the clicking was a spring cam between the motor and the latch so it won't over tighten. Whatever it is, my current and my past Tesla had the same noise, fastening down the trunk hatch. Since it's an electric car with a lot of new tech in it, any new owner should plan to hear a lot of things they couldn't hear on their old ICE car, because of the ambient noise, or the fact that the tech wasn't there....

Everything is so new its almost disconcerting (but in a good way) The 1hr+ training they give you when you get the car is very informative but not enough to get all of the details. Thank you for TMC and the great community for all this extra information.

Resurrecting this thread.
I have a 2018 M8 75D with extended warranty. The right-hand trunk/tailgate motor (I'm assuming it's a motor - the cylindrical part that pushes the tailgate open and pulls it closed) has started making a clicking/knocking/rattling sound when the tailgate is opening and closing.
Does it need replacing? The left one is silent.
Thanks
