Another data point: my EZPass has been working without issue mounted on the dotted area to the right of the rear-view mirror attachment point. I did, however, have to get a fresh EZPass transponder, as the battery in my old one was too weak.

The only thing I want in the Tech Package is Homelink. Is there any way to get Homelink without the Tech Package?
I was just looking at the EZ Pass webpage in order to change the make/model of my car. And guess what? No Tesla!?!? There is the option of "Other" which seems really lame. Anyone else find Tesla as an option?
yea i was just looking thru Virginia's "Clean Special Fuel" plates so i can use the I-66 HOV lanes.... there's the Tesla Roadster, but no Model S.
can't use it on the I-66 HOV lanes anymore anyway. Unless you have one of those OLDER plates that was grandfathered in.
Finally solved my problem. Florida has come out with a new form factor of Sunpass, called "SunPass Slim". It is approximately 5" x 1". It works on my windshield if mounted directly below the center of the mirror mount. None of the others worked in that spot (or anywhere else, for me).

Hey aviators99,
Do you think that the new SunPass has better electronics which explains why it's a better solution?
Well, I think I spoke too soon. It's only working about 50% of the time, unfortunately. It just happened that it worked at the first two places, so I jumped to a conclusion. I will try a few more different places.
Quit worrying about it ... Just make sure your tag is up to date on Sunpass and they will charge your account automatically with no fees.
+1 Drove from the Factory across 92 today and holding the FastTrak transponder on the dots to the right of the mirror worked fine. I don't have long arms (physically average) and it worked just fine. Wife hasn't tried it yet. May just stick it to the windshield in that spot w/ the velcro and she can remove it if needed during commute time.
I may just have to bite the bullet and order and mount that fugly front license plate transponder. Yuck!
