Never sure where posts like this go. Looking for value advice. I'm consodering a trade. Below are my options for now... I own the X but my friend wants to trade me and add cash.

1. $78,000 Tesla X AP1, tech, premium pack, 6 seating tan leather, 20s w bad ties, titanium color is kinda ugly, sub zero package. 27k miles two years left on warranty.

2. $63000 for 2015 S P85d Insane with tech, Ap, hi fi, spoiler, carbon interior, 21" Rotoform wheels 2 piece forged $6000 when new w ok tires, pano roof, alcantara, rest executive seating, tan leather, center console I'm sure I missed things. 52700 miles no warranty.

I have no kids so that doesn't bother me. The X is a little more comfortable but I'm more about value.

P85dLi will hold its value better.

Don't all P85D's have Insane?, mine has it. I just got it and like it but I want another X. Just listed my P85D for sale.

NO it is $10K add and you would know as it would actually say "Insane" mode instead of just chill and sport. Text me about my X for you P85D 6027155476

I don't think this is correct. Insane mode is standard on P85D which was 0-60 in 3.2s. Ludicrous option was the additional add on which was offered for $5000 for the P85D I believe, and shortened 0-60 to 2.8s.
Wrong

I'm sorry to inform you, but both of those statements were actually correct.

All P85Ds came with Insane mode. See the windows sticker for a Dec '14 P85D below (if the image upload works)

+1 what @HankLloydRight said. All P85D (production began November 2014) came with Insane Mode, initially 0-60mph in 3.2 seconds, then slightly improve to 3.1 seconds via software update in February 2015. In July 2015, Tesla announced P90D with Ludicrous Mode as a $10k option (also required a $3000 battery upgrade). In appreciation of the original P85D owners, Tesla offered a $5000 retrofit special to upgrade P85D to P85D Ludicrous with 0-60mph of 2.9 seconds.

There are no P85D that don't have at least Insane Mode.

Yes, it would.

But nobody has ever seen or heard of a P85D being 'upgraded' to Insane mode for $10k before.. when all P85Ds came with Insane mode. My December 2014 P85D has Insane mode as standard, just like every P85D. Maybe you have a P90D and paid the $10k to upgrade to Ludicrous mode. Maybe they installed the Ludicrous hardware, didn't update the software flags to enable Ludicrous mode on the touchscreen.

If you have a receipt showing otherwise, please share it. That should solve the mystery.
