    Tesla Roadster (2020) - Wikipedia

    Design[edit]
The second generation Tesla Roadster is a 2+2 roadster with a removable glass roof. It was designed by Franz von Holzhausen, formerly of Mazda. The Roadster has a 2+2 seating arrangements, with smaller rear seats for two passengers.[13]

The Roadster has three electric motors, one in front and two at the rear,[13] allowing for all-wheel drive, and torque vectoring during cornering. Tesla said that the vehicle had a 200 kWh (720 MJ) battery, twice the capacity of the Tesla Model S P100D, and giving a 621 miles (1,000 km) range on one charge at highway speeds. Tesla stated that the torque at wheels was 10,000 N⋅m (7,400 lb⋅ft). The rear wheels are larger than the front wheels.[25]

Just thinking about dimensions if you were to build a Roadster 2.0 body based on a Prius Gen 2 frame. Do you think these numbers are accurate? Some questions below:

    Prius Gen 2:
    Wheelbase 2,700 mm (106.3 in)
    Length 4,450 mm (175.2 in)
    Width 1,725 mm (67.9 in)
    Height 1,490 mm (58.7 in)
Curb weight 1,317 kg (2,903 lb)

    Tesla Roadster Original:
    Wheelbase 2,352 mm (92.6 in)
    Length 3,946 mm (155.4 in)
    Width 1,873 mm (73.7 in)
    Height 1,127 mm (44.4 in)
Curb weight 1,305 kg (2,877 lb)

    Speculate 2.0 Roadster dimensions:

    Wheelbase 106-114 in
    Length 150-168 in
    Width 72-80 in
    Height 42-48 in
    Curb weight (3500+ lb)

Mclaren F1 dimensions: (For additional Reference)
    Wheelbase 2,718 mm (107.0 in)
    Length 4,287 mm (168.8 in)
    Width 1,820 mm (71.7 in)
    Height 1,140 mm (44.9 in)
Kerb weight 1,138 kg (2,509 lb)

Notes: Main limiting factor in using Prius frame is the width. 68 in will likely be too narrow, by a good margin.

If scale Roadster to be 10% size reduction in every dimension, can also decrease expensive wheels to go from 21" rear and 20" front to 19" rear, 18" front.

SCALED 2.0 Roadster dimensions based on Prius Frame:

    Wheelbase 106.3 in
    Length 140-150 in
    Width 67.9 in
    Height 38-44 in
    Curb weight ~~ (2500 lb)

    Practical questions to be answered:

Can I fit 19" wheels on rear? Will brakes need to be modified?
Will entire car frame be tilted forward since not designed for different front and rear size wheels
Front Glass windshield will likely need to be custom due to curvature. This could be really expensive

I had my own expectations but after looking at it from the side again, think wheelbase is around 3m, length at around 4.35m and height 1.2m.
Edit: nm, the perspective on the renders is likely misleading. The wheelbase should be rather large though.
