Can anyone identify the black box behind the right rear wheel?

I believe the charger is in the center with the large orange cables running to it.

Facing the picture, on the left, appears to be a subwoofer.

think he means the box with the 3 connections coming out of it which is seen when facing the picture on the right above the wheel well ...

There are a lot of wires going to/from it. That implies a control unit of some sort, but could be radio/amp. But seems odd to put that sort of thing so far back.

Maybe it is the brain for the motor?

The cables look like coax to me.

DVD-based nav unit? Acuras have that unit around there (under the floor though).

Do you think Tesla would use DVDs for Nav data when flash is so cheap? Could it be an amp for the sound system? Have no idea what it is obviously, just guessing.

Exhibit A: storage for 500 songs standard. Sound package ups it to 3,000. ;)

Good point. That still baffles me as to why they went so low on the storage.

    My opinion: option to upgrade...

But, honestly, it is embarrassing that my phone holds 8 times that amount.

The only reason I can think of for the low song capacity is that it's the original spec from four years ago and has never been changed.

SD cards larger than that have a different spec. Someone (most likely Continental) has not written the code to support it yet.
