Consumer groups to Mercedes: Pump the brakes on Drive Pilot ads - Roadshow
I was wondering when or if Consumer Reports would also go after Mercedes Benz's "self-driving car" claims in their ads:
I'm glad to see at least that their position on advanced auto-assist features is consistent across brands, and not just singling out Tesla.
How incredibly irresponsible they are for using the word Drive Pilot. Don't they realize that by having that name people are going to assume it can drive itself?? How dare they release that onto the market when it's not 100% perfect. It could kill someone.
From what I've been reading it doesn't even sound 5% perfect!
Tesla comparison is pretty stark if you haven't seen it:

Naming the function "Drive Pilot" isn't nearly as bad as proclaiming the vehicle itself as a "self-driving car" in their ads!
And here is the latest: Well, that was fast: Mercedes pulls ad for Drive Pilot semi-autonomous system - Roadshow
