Consumer Reports Model 3 reliability rating: reliable?

I had a Leaf that was terminally slow but it would spin its front wheels frequently due to a lack of traction and poor traction control, so I know what CR is referring to and I concur.

Did CR say your Leaf pulls off like a luxury car then?

Spoon feeding is not always available. Sometimes you have to think about the data.

There are less offensive ways to say you're unwilling or unable to back up your assertions with data or references.

I'm thinking of getting a 3 or an X. Both have terrible ratings and predicted reliability in my CR app. But everyone I know has nothing but good things to say about them. What gives?

Well what "gives" is this: Is Tesla a "good" car, as in "Toyota Good" or "Porsche Good"--NO. Does the Tesla make its owners feel really good? YES. So basically IMO the answer is the Tesla owner married the ballerina or movie star rather than the librarian or accountant, but somehow finds the grief worth it.

CR's complaints are equally weighted. A small bug on a Tesla is weighted the same as an engine blowing out on a Chrysler.

Actually they are not equally weighted. CR did an in-depth article some time back which delved in to their methodology and weighting is based on severity of defect type among a number of other things...
