Continual reboots

One suggestion that worked for me after installing 2018.18:

I had left the web browser on electrek.co And had been enjoying finally able to read articles.

In my experience, Continuous driving was mostly ok. Few problems w/ nav and maps in general.

But when I park & walk away for any length of time... the center console would get stuck. Hard stuck... no maps, sound system, anything... it was even to the point I think it confused the logicon & air conditioning would no longer function. It was pretty dire that day, as it was over 85 deg. outside.

About ready to call the SC about this being completely unacceptable & being unsafe to drive, and after seeing some but not enough lock ups in the forums...

The fix: select the browser & navigate to a low impact website - namely google or some address you know isn't hard on the browser engine.

Problem completely went away. No repeats for 2 weeks. Whew... what a relief.

And for any naysayers... it is/was repeatable...

I hope in some way it helps. But if not, I tried.

+1...just had my X in shop for AC repair and mentioned screen freezes.

lol.....They found that my NHL.com web browser page was taking up 52% of memory which combined with 36K in trips was causing the freezes. Once they moved to the google web page and cleared trip data I had clear sailing without a freeze.

I totally agree with the band-aid; it's just infuriating. Since I owned the car, I could leave it on TeslaWaze (or other sites) with no issues. Every since 2018.14.2 , I can't leave the browser on anything other than maybe Google, without it taking down my whole MCU. And like you mentioned, that becomes a huge inconvenience in 90 degree weather, or when trying to navigate somewhere in a hurry, etc, etc.

Well I fixed by deleting my phone BT connection and re-pairing as another user had suggested 48 hours w/o a reboot. but then reading WP on browser this morning noticed that the turn signal sound didnt work and scrrenn froze did a reboot and fixed it so there is credance to the browser *sugar*. What a CROCK!!! my damn Iphone has better bandwith and memory (and functionality for that matter)
