Well the A2 is an ideal donor vehicle, being all aluminium. We can probably estimate the weight without ICE.

The battery would appear to be as good as other chemistry, what's the cost?

Tests look impressive though I don't understand the German.

Interesting. I hope Tesla and BMW don't lock up exclusive rights as that will slow the deployment of the technology to the masses.

Google translates the title of this story to "Now he wants to buy BMW".

Nothing really new, if you have been reading this thread, except for what you can see in the video. Mirko Hanemann explains that the range of the smaller version of the battery was tested officially, according to the standard measuring method for electric vehicles.

I was looking for evidence that the yellow/purple car had its back seats. This was the best I found:

Even if this is only the 60kWh pack in the ghost outline, that's still a very impressive step forward in volumetric density. If it's 98kWh then it's pretty amazing.

It's not just volumetric, but also a small weight miracle. I've read somewhere that the car tested by DEKRA ony weighed 1350kg, which is only 200 kg heavier than the original ICE Audi.

I am sure I also read that the original car (Lekker Mobil) was a fully functioning 4 seat car with heat/AC/ electric windows working.

Looking at the video you can see the car accelerating at the end. The energy consumption meter (reallly, there has got to be a better name for that) goes all the way in the red zone, but the car doesn't seem to accelerate that quickly.

Yes I saw that acceleration too. If it can charge fast then it you'd expect it to be able to accelerate fast. Is this another case of high energy density / low power density?

Maybe they are talking about materials cost but I'm not sure you could buy the raw materials of the necessary purity for a 600-700lb pack for the quoted prices. Even if they misplaced a decimal place it would still be a price breakthrough so something doesn't add up.

If it's the energy consumed per unit time, then it's a power meter.
