Cost of battery replacement

Sorry folks I should’ve included more info.
2015 P85d.
Original battery with 104k.
Range showed 205...down from 256.
I’ve complained multiple times over the past year or so since the infamous update dropped my range from 235. Batterygate and chargegate!
Finally they agreed to replace.
The quote was from 2 weeks ago. Replacement battery being installed while we speak.
I will update with the new battery stats.
Praying for a 90 battery!
We’ll see what happens.

you don't want a 90!... you want the 350v 85 battery that was recently released.. more range, probably immune to batterygate1.0
The various 90kWh packs are fine, especially in a non-Ludicrous P85D. It'll offer the same or better performance in terms of acceleration, charging and lifespan from this point forward given that it's free and the likely numbers his current 85kWh pack had anyway.

this is the battery one would want
New 85kWH battery for my 2013 P85+
Unless they previously had a 90 or 100 of course. Thankfully they still replace those with either a 90 or 100 although I'd be surprised if they didn't just go to the 100's at least for the 90's for simplification of inventory over the next couple of years. If they have an older, higher mileage 90 though that newer version 85 pack would probably be a wash and likely an upgrade anyway. If you had a 60, 70, 75 or even older 85 though this would likely be a nice upgrade for warranty purposes.

yeah - my comment was in response to the splsales who has an 85

Understood. Just trying to preemptively avoid static from some people who read everything literally on this forum and can't wait to flex in a thread in an effort to impress everyone with their knowledge. I'm dealing with exactly that in another thread where someone asked a basic question on a topic that can get technical quickly and in an effort to keep things topical I used basic terms since it was a 100-mile-view type conversation with someone seeking basic info. Someone came in and crushed me over leaving items out and semantics & it got ugly and still don't know what their point was other than hearing themselves talk. FWIW we're in agreement here.
