Hello,
I can not read log via usb. I have fat32 4gb usb stick. When I insert usb stick nothing happend. Also tried to switch on and off ignition. Folder is named VehicleLogs
What I am doing wrong?
It is Roadster Sport 2.0

thanks
Chris

Well, the "ignition" switch does need to be off, and the car not charging (i.e. contactors open). Otherwise, sounds like it should have worked. It doesn't matter if the car is plugged in or not.

Most USB memory sticks have a little LED on them that blinks with access. Does yours at least blink to indicate that the car even saw it? It takes a few seconds to recognize the stick is in there, then you should get a 3-beeps alert saying memory transfer is in progress when the actual copying of the log starts.

Mine would not work with a 4gb usb, but works fine with a 2gb usb. all I ca guess is that a 4 gb drive is actually more than 4gb's.
Very likely this could be it... My "4gig" stick is a bit less, depending on whether you're counting 1000 or 1024 byte "k"s.

This one works:

Disk /dev/sde: 3.8 GiB, 4105175040 bytes, 8017920 sectors
Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disklabel type: dos
Disk identifier: 0x04030201

Device Boot Start End Sectors Size Id Type
/dev/sde1 2760 8017919 8015160 3.8G c W95 FAT32 (LBA)

There have been a few times when my car wouldn’t write to the usb drive. It seems like some process has locked up, usually when a prior attempt is interrupted by removing the drive prematurely. In those cases, I’ve had to restart the VMS by pulling the blue plug in the passenger-side footwell. That can be difficult, so look for other threads with detailed instructions.
