Cover for Heatpump to reduce Noise

I think people are expecting too much from this cover. I doubt it makes much difference at all. (It looks more like an insulative wrap to me.)

I suspect most of the noisy HVAC systems are actually from the coolant pumps.

Yeah...this is an exposed open cell foam cover wrap that is way different that the hard shelled clam case design Sandy showed in the first post of this thread.

The noise is not from the compressor so the foam wrap is kind of silly although I suppose it can't hurt. The noise is from where the valve and pumps are. It's noticeable in our new Y (mostly when the battery is being cooled) but hardly intolerable. Remember, in an ICE vehicle the compressor only runs when the engine is running so who knows how loud those compressors and pumps are because, by comparison, the engine is REALLY loud.
