Hello Folks,

Due to COVID-19 impact on job market, I am here exploring suggestions with regards to my options in returning my Tesla back to dealer or sell on the market.

FYI - Based in Canada - Toronto.

I bought Tesla X with complete upgrades last Aug 2019 and so far I have Approx. 26K kms on the vehicle.

Your valuable suggestions are much appreciated.

Thank you.

Fellow Tesla User.

...returning my Tesla...

Tesla does trade-in but and does not buy a used car even if it's Tesla brand.

Some have also reported that it does not routinely do trade-in if that results in paying the customer back some money (trade in higher value Model X or lower value Model 3).

I don't know if CarMax is a thing in Canada, but I used to see lots of people recommend going to CarMax to sell your car because you'd get a better number from them than from Tesla, and I think they will buy cars outright.

Current Automotive in Naperville, IL has a good reputation for buying.....

Appreciate the mention.

We're in a holding pattern on purchases at the moment - want to see if sales pick up post-stimulus before we add more than we can sell.

We also only purchase US vehicles.

It's doubtful, but worth reaching out to the lease/finance company to see if they will defer payments for 90 days. Most other companies are offering this at least privately.
