Governors seem positive of Covid19 slowing & easing the shutdowns. Hopefully, Tesla might open for production in phase wise sooner than May 04-we all will get MY sooner & better ones as Tesla has used the shutdown period to fix & refine many production lines. Keep the fingers cross!

You’re forgetting it’s the county that shut down Tesla production, not the state. I live here in the Bay Area, based on what the local news is saying, there’s pretty much no chance it’ll open sooner than May 4th. In fact, the counties are thinking of maybe even extending the stay-at-home rules to June.

As much as I want to get my Y as the next person, it's just not worth it if it'll jeopardize the health and safety of the factory workers building these cars. It sucks waiting for sure, but in the grand scheme of things, waiting a couple extra weeks isn't bad at all if that'll translate to safer conditions for everyone.

The only reason virus is slowing is because everything is closed. Without vaccine as soon as things are opened up virus will start to spread just as before. Things will be slow until we have vaccine.

The Shelter-in-place order for Alameda country where Fremont is located runs until April 3. I am also in the county and they are being pretty strict about it. All parks, playground, etc shutdown with physical barrier to play equipment. Tennis and volleyball courts have had nets removed.

On the coast,$1000 tickets being handed out to the people that try to use closed beaches.

Even if hypothetically the State of California and County of Alameda decided to lift their respective stay-in-place orders today so your car gets built, if your location still has a lockdown in effect, you may not be able to pick up your vehicle or you may not get to drive it much even if you do get your hands on it. Might as well wait until it's safer for employees to get back to work. By then, hopefully, you'll be able to drive and enjoy your car more.

Tesla has a supply chain and anything domestic is going to continue to be disrupted, even if the factory gets the all clear to reopen. I think we're in for a long road.

FWIW, last week my reservation showed paid in full, (though I haven’t arranged financing) and requesting proof of insurance. I emailed the delivery specialist and asked what the situation was. He said they were looking for a car.

I emailed again yesterday 4/14 and got a response the same day. He said that they didn’t have a car and the wait would be about 7 weeks.

I ordered the AWD blue with white interior and turbines.

Tesla stopped production of their own accord due to employee concerns and some supplier issues. Under federal law, Tesla is considered an essential business. All has been discussed at length in the big Investor thread.

Tesla has taken the opportunity to do some line changes/upgrades. Perhaps some maintenance and the like as well. And there are a lot of employees working from home.

I ordered AWD blue with white interior and 20" induction-I hope the wait won't be too long.
