CPO Experience/Process December 2018

Took delivery of mine this morning, car looked great minus a minor door ding that can be popped out. Other than that a few very small scratches but nothing bad. Car came with two FOBs. The guy who gave me the basics I would say is very new and didn’t do a great job going over the basics. Luckily I had reviewed every video I could so i already knew the basics.
The car is a pure joy to drive. I have a jaguar and this by miles is more fun and responsive to drive. The torque to start or speed up is like nothing I have ever experienced, I am one happy tesla owner.
Have fun. Be safe. Glad your car worked out the way you wanted.

I ordered my CPO today. All documents are uploaded and complete. I was told the car is in the Orlando area (about 3 hours from me) and should be ready for pickup in a week. Wish me luck! There were no closeup photos at all so I'm hoping there aren't any scratches, dings, dents, etc. Spoke with sales person before purchase and then an hour after and he said that no extra photos is a good thing. Hope so!
I think no close up photos is a good sign. Keep us posted.

delivery scheduled for 12/22 10am, flight purchased flying from Atlanta to Orlando to pickup and drive back.

12/19, reached out to advisor making sure everything will be ready saturday, due to hearing all the horror stories of people getting last minute delays, was assured it will be fine.

12/20, delivery specialist reached out confirming car is ready for 12/22 delivery 10am

12/21, got a call at 1pm saying headlight had a crack and car will not be ready until 12/26

This is my 4th Tesla delivery since 2014 and not once has it been without drama

UPDATE Saturday December 22, 2018

If I wrote the words I'm feeling right now, I would get kicked off this forum.

I'm AGAIN on the train to Mount Kisco to pick up my Model S and my phone rings as the train doors close. Yup. Tesla. Yup. Canceling the delivery. AGAIN. Saying there is something wrong with the air suspension and it's not going to pass inspection. This means they just started prepping the car which means they have done nothing since yesterday when my delivery was supposed to happen.

PISSSSSEEEDDDDD!!!!!

Email from them

I’m sorry to have had to relay the bad news to you and that we couldn’t make your delivery work today. You are absolutely right that your delivery has not been handled the way we should have and I am disappointed that you haven’t had a great experience. Please keep my information (in my signature below) and I would be happy to see through your final steps so that we can make things right.

We have rescheduled your delivery for when you return from vacation on January 4th, 2019 at 1:00PM.

Apologies again and we will see you soon,"

I just got an email from Tesla to take a survey on their customer support. Spent about 20 minutes trying to provide constructive feedback without flat out saying they appear to be completely retarded and seem to have no clue what they're doing. It's obviously not intentionally, but their training, education and communication is the worst I've ever seen from any company I've ever dealt with. I provided them examples of some of the stuff I dealt to illustrate just some of what we're dealing with. Probably won't change anything, but I hope they do something because it's pretty bad.

Unbelievable. They are blindly saying these cars are ready without actually KNOWING they are ready. Are the cars that good that you continue to put up with this? And are they covering your plane ticket?

At one point (just in 7 measly days) they lost the car and had no idea where it was (51 miles away in Neughburg NY or something like that)....when I did actually pick it up, the odometer went from 23k to 24k b/c the listed mileage was almost 24k and it caught my eye....I ran the #s and it was 51 miles more on the odometer then listed.....(doubt I would have noticed had it not been obvious of the 23,989 change to 24k when I picked up)....so that means while they were waiting for it to arrive to the Mt Kisco SC, they realized f*ck! And went to go get it and drove it back to the SC themselves....smh....I feel for you all....seriously.

The cars are that good, haha. They were going to pay for a rescheduled flight, but I think i convinced them to ship the car instead. Hopefully they won't surprise me with a $2000 bill on delivery day.

Robert, sucks to hear they cancelled again. Hopefully when you finally get the car these issues will fade away. The air suspension worried me with issues people have reported, that’s why I chose one without active air suspension.

I am so glad I actually went and read through this forum and decided not to buy it. This is absolutely horrendous. What does this say about Tesla? Curious, how much sugar would you put up with from any other company before suing them/flooding them with terrible reviews all over the place? Sure, Tesla is pushing the limits and doing great things, but everything listed here is inexcusable.
