CPO Model S January Timeline

Looks GREAT! Was Andy your delivery specialist? How much notice did they give you for the exact delivery date/time?

Andy helped me through the process but was not there for the official delivery. I was told on Friday 2/16 that my appointment would be 11am on 2/20. I called once on Tuesday evening to confirm with Andy and he assured me the car would make the appointment time (and they did)

Picked up the car today and was there 30 minutes. Everything looked great for a car with 66k miles. No rock chips or body damage outside of some small scratches across the back of the trunk that will come out when I get it ceramic coated. They put brand new tires and wheels on it so they look great.

Can't wait to spend some time driving this weekend.

Seems like all of us got cars pretty close to the 6 week mark. 3-4 days later and I am absolutely in love with her!! I mean, holy crap...this is what a car is supposed to be (and more). I'm literally finding any excuse I can to take a drive.

I got mine 6 weeks to the day, I honestly love my car, Dropping it off at the SC tomorrow to get the issues i found on/after delivery taken care of, But since i liked it so much, I decided to reserve a Model 3 for my wife on friday,

So after a few days with the car and after its first water-less wash, I noticed a small dent (more like a crease) on the front left quarterpanel just by the Tesla branded blinker. As user @ElementPowder said in his post, I too have an odd paint issue that sort of looks like a cig burn where there is a patch of paint that is brighter than the rest of the car. Do you guys think this is something Tesla will fix considering this is a CPO car? I'll be reaching out to my local SC come Monday morning to see if this is something they'll take care of. Also noticing a wind noise coming through the left driver door. Hopefully they hook a brotha up!

So all around paint problems. I’ve already contacted Tesla because the pearl on my back bumper repaint is off.

Same as King Rubin for my issues. Sent photos to SC now they changed my service appt from this Thursday to next Monday because they are certain that shes going to need to go to the body shop. Fine by me so long as I can get a loaner car to get to work!
Finally got a reply as well. They’re agreeing to repaint the bumper so I need to find a day to bring it in.

Now that I have the car I'm doing some research on clear bras (xpel / suntek) for the whole front half. Im in Phoenix, AZ and getting quotes of $1200-$1600, most with a 10 year warranty and a ceramic coat. Wondering if this is worth it or it its just overpriced film.

Paint protection film does work, My wifes Optima was done right after we bought the car 3 years ago and paint still looks perfect, you can see so of the harder hits the PPF took and even tore that would have be really bad without it. As soon as i get my car back from tesla it is going to get the full hood and bumper done, and also be fully tinted with 3M Crystalline Send me a message, i can put you in contact with someone who might be able to save you a few bucks since you are local

So Tesla had my S 85 for about 36 hours and they did a great job fixing the issues I presented. They were fair about what they would and would not cover. There was a small dent on the back right trunk that they originally said "fell within their specs" and would not be covered under the warranty, but upon inspection it looks like the dent repair guy took that one out for me too without any issue. The only thing they didnt fully fix was a scratch on the lower left driver door, but they did fill it in a bit and make it less noticeable (still debating if I should go back and insist this one should have a second look)

During the time I got to drive a loaner Model S P85D with insane acceleration activated and GOD DAMN that thing was fast. I had fun peeling my friends faces back for a day. Overall very satisfied with their customer service. The guys in Tempe work their asses off to make sure customers are happy and I sure do appreciate that.

While I was there I got to see an entire big rig trailer of Model 3s and Model S get unloaded. Heres a few pics of what the different colors looked like in the daylight.

Ordered/placed deposit 2/22
Was toying with the idea of a fly’n’drive-home (Cali), but two days after deposit, my OA said the car was staged/already on its way to me! She didn’t know this, but the car had already undergone refurbishment. This meant my 4-6wk timeframe now shrunk to two!!
Got a call from my local Delivery Adviser last Friday saying the car arrived and looked great. Asked for a few days to get it ready.
Today was THE day. Spent maybe an hour total, but that was with a trade-in as well as my son going through all the Easter eggs. :)
I must admit I was stressed with the “sight-unseen” CPO process, but as others have said, trust in the process knowing anything that truly needs to be fixed will be.
I posted a couple pics in my “Continue the CPO hunt?” thread, but can post more here if needed.

Well after having the car for about 3-4 weeks now, my left driver door handle has succumbed and is failing to present itself. I refuse to leave my window down all day while at work and I am not tying a freaking string around the handle to open it manually. Going to the SC tomorrow to have this fix this. arghhhhh!!
Dah! Sorry to hear that. I’ll have to search the threads to see when they switched over to the updated handles, i.e. hopefully my Dec’14 build isn’t a handle-failure waiting to happen.

I think in 2016 Tesla updated to a third generation door handle assembly. Supposed to be more waterproof and more reliable. Luckily the car is still in warranty so I'll be able to get replaced for free (Tesla doesnt like to repair) I've heard horror stories though of people who have had to pay $500+ for a new door handle out of warranty. These door handles are easily fixed though when outside of warranty ($10 switches to fix)

I have the 4yr CPO warranty, but would rather the door panels never have to be removed as squeaks inevitably appear afterward.
