CPO purchase update or the lack thereof

I placed an order on the Tesla website for a P85 on 6/13/17 and I was notified that I'd be contacted by a delivery specialist. So far it's been nothing. Not only that, My Tesla say it'll take 8-10 weeks for the car to be delivered. I must say that sounds like an awfully long time given I'm in San Francisco and the car is also in the Bay Area!
I understand the recent flood of CPO sales but I just wish the DS would be a bit more communicative. Aside from that, the CPO person named Derek has been awesome. I cannot thank him enough for finding the car that I got.

When I got mine this past January, I needed to pester them just to find out who the DS would be.

I later pestered numerous times for updates and the DS was surprised when the car was already on his lot and ready and he didn't know it (it originated in Montreal and I was picking it up in Toronto).

Keep pestering them and don't assume that any timeline you see is accurate.

Finally, congrats on the order. Regardless of what happens with the purchase experience, you will love the car.

I am in the process of buying a CPO as well. I purchased a p85 on 6/13 and my DS has been awesome (Christian Newcomb in Dedham). He actually called me before I even purchased because I had a few questions. He has been in touch with me every step of the way.

My CPO person gave me the name and email of my DS, so I emailed him and asked some questions and requested some pics. He called me and gave me some updates (my car is already at the pickup location) and sent me pics of the car.
I ordered on 6/8. I hope I will have my 85 in a few weeks.

Congrats to you as well
So when did you DS contact you after you placed the deposit? It's just been the Derek, CPO gentleman, who's been in communication with me. How long is your estimated delivery wait time?

I wasn't put in contact with my DS until several weeks into the process and I had an actual delivery date. I communicated with the CPO Advisor up to that point, who did answer all my questions, provided me photos, etc. I didn't even know he wasn't going to follow the process all the way through until he transferred me (I didn't know there were two different roles).

I would just continue to hit up whoever your current contact is for info. That is what I did.

my first CPO experience from almost 2 years ago was amazing! from deposit to delivery it took approximately 3 weeks with a representative contacting me 2 days later and touched based with me throughout the sale. they even sent photos prior to me accepting the car and kept me up to date.

however for my second CPO (which i'm in the process of going through right now after placing my deposit on 6/6/17) has been a completely different and negative experience with a few emails that have gone unanswered and 1 returned phone call after i left 2 messages. i understand that they received a few hundred extra orders from this fire sale, but should communicate out expectations on when the CPO agents will be in contact.

I bought one of the "fire sale" ones on 6/7, and I got a phone call the next day. Since then, just one email update to say the transport had been ordered, and I'd hear again soon with an update. Total time to delivery was expected to be 4-5 weeks (car in LA; delivery in Chicago).

You just inspired me to start another thread on our CPO cars. I'll get to that in later.

Just this morning I emailed my CPO guy and asked him for some pix as I was just too anxious to something, anything. He emailed back a few pix of my car being worked on. That confirmed that my purchase was real! Lol. Now we're a week in, hopefully it won't take another 8-9 weeks before delivery.

I will watch this post, as I am just about to buy a P85, and also want to know if I will have it for my birthday (8th August). First time buying a CPO, so didn't know what the time frame was like.

I went through similar last June with my CPO purchase. As a public company Tesla is scrambling to expedite delivery of new/inventory vehicles. Unfortunately CPO is a lower priority for an already very lean delivery team. The waiting will be worth it!
