I'm not sure if this is good news or bad news, but apparently the CPUC is reviewing the so-called "indifference charge" that's part of community choice aggregation (CCA) or community choice energy (CCE) programs. Apparently there's a meeting scheduled for the 13th of September.
If you're in a CCA/CCE already, you may have noticed a "Power Charge Indifference Adjustment" (PCIA) on your bill, which more or less wipes out any savings you might have expected from lower rates. Apparently the CPUC will consider changes to that system later this month. Utilities seem to oppose the proposed changes.
Here's some discussion of the proposal. The CPUC document is long and mind-numbing, but it might save some of us from sleeping pills.
