I was amazed how high the tax bill was on my Model S - especially as it is a 2012.
I called my town hall and it turns out the DMV hasn't issued whatever valuation they need to, so towns are faking it a little. I was being taxed on the full purchase price at 100%. It should be 70% of base ($60k now). My tax bill went down by a third when they redid the calculations.
Best part, my town's first selectman is a Tesla owner. Oops.
