At that price point, other alternatives like Ford Mach E and the Nissan Ariya (to debut in Fall; looks pretty good) will start to become attractive at least to some customers.
There will be many cars coming up and lot of innovation in EV. To me, Tesla is like apple. It always has it's standards and trust. Other cars will also be on par but Tesla is Tesla.

If EV incentive gets approved for Jan 2022, there will be lot of new orders and Tesla will have huge delays like now to deliver cars. Then the used market for Tesla goes crazy and will be atleast on par with new car prices. Then we can sell ours and get new ones and also get incentives. Of course this thread will probably be at 10,000 page and @potter287, @joewithblueMY, @many others will be waiting for their car again. Who knows, we might even hit 100,000 page before we get our new cars. Sounds good on book. 😂

Of the current crop in the crossover EV world, MY wins hands down. I test drove the Mach E, ID 4, XC40 Recharge and the Jag I-Pace. So no argument with you for now. But the Nissan car coming soon could change that equation. Nissan has a long history (longer than Tesla) with EVs. The car looks very good (on video at least) and Nissan is going to put the torque splitting system it has on its high end sports sedans into the AWD version. I am keeping an eye out on the Ariya should my MY order get kicked into next year.

Well, for the first time I have an EDD: Sep 2-22.

I ordered in February and promptly put it on hold in the hopes of a new EV tax credit. Finalized the order and released it on June 26th. If the tax credit comes to pass I may just cancel and start over. Especially if new batteries and perhaps a Model Y Mini are possible in early 2022.

I thought my signature would show up, but it doesn’t.

MY LR | White/Black | Basic | Future name - Cyberdyne Systems Model Y | FLL FL.

Oh it’s nothing the incentives. It’s the wait.
I can go and pick up a BMW right now, but almost 11 weeks for a $62k car?
If you buy a BMW today and sell it tomorrow, you might lose 10K or more. But if you buy Tesla today and sell tomorrow, you might make money depending on demand for that config.

I'm just surprised that scalpers haven't hit Tesla market yet like PS5 or XBOX. Imagine the situation if we have scalpers here. God knows how long we have to wait.

Some people will say, don't do it. People who have same config as you, will say go ahead. I think you should decide yourself.
I’m going insane literally. All I think about is the car, I haven’t left my house in 4 days nor have opened the shades, I’m just here. Waiting.

The wait is ruining me. My BMW works fine, it just consumes 12k of gas per year, and it’s overwhelming to see 1k of hard work just disappear in gas.

I’ve been eating less, ppl call me and I don’t pick up, I’m literally here with you guys all day. Refreshing the page all day. Calling stores all day.

I didn’t realize the Fremont factory is adjacent to a railyard. Was that a factor in building the plant there, to have easy access to ship cars by rail to the east coast? Clever.
Typically rail lines are setup based on the need and depending on factory requirements. Otherwise it's logistical nightmare to load cars into trucks and send them to railyard for shipping.

My wife told me if I make her go through this again she’ll hurt me… I hope the Tesla experience will be worth it (to justify this wait, the cost of installing a WC, etc)… She’s expecting me to stick with Tesla after this for the long term

Just got back from taking delivery of my Y today. No issues at delivery, car was flawless. Delivery specialist was super nice and trade-in/paperwork went quick and easy. TONS of people also there accepting deliveries. Lot was completely full so I expect VINs to be rolling out to those in the Las Vegas area. SA at the door doing check-in said its been nonstop like this so hopefully that means more deliveries ahead of Sep/Oct.

Masks were required but I'd say delivery was more of the normal process rather than touch-less.
Congrats! Our SC always seems pretty packed so no surprised there. Hoping VINs come sooner rather than later but I guess we'll see.

Yeah I'm not saying others will not be great. You will see BMW i series coming. Did you look at their features and interior? Gosh that's what a premium car should be. Tesla is years ahead in their motor and battery tech. We just have to see if that's 2 yrs or 20 yrs based on how fast others catch up.

Sounds like you need some help. Don't get too involved in the car. It gets here when it should.

Idk what a scalper is.
Scalpers are people who buy out all the available stock and sell in on market places for higher price. For example when iPhone releases, people buy them out for 1000$ each and sell in eBay for 2500 and even 5000$. Rich and people who don't care about money and just want to show off their new phone, will buy them. Real people who want and are waiting in line in front of store, can't even get one. Same happened with gaming consoles. Lot of articles and information about it. Scalpers damage the market for their benefit.

Everyone who got Tesla says the wait is worth and all this wait will vanish once you get the car. @gisseLdesire said that too. I hope so. But the wait is killing. Lol.
