To clarify quickly since the cars appear and disappear within seconds, when you say pulled trigger I assume you put down another $100 deposit for the inventory call and later told Tesla that you want this car instead of your previous order?

Yes, I noticed the car at 10pm and there was no way my SA would jump on it.

So doing another $100 deposit is the fastest way to secure the inventory car. My SA then swapped the car on my original RN and made that a custom, pushed out to the end of the year.

Looking at the spreadsheet, it looks like the 3 most recent were all on 4/25 & 4/27 and were all within 7-9 days of the order date. After that, there are over 100 with no VIN yet.

Thanks. I'm traveling a lot next month and was worried about not being able to take delivery in the window I had. Not willing to wait another 3-6 months for blue, and 1k off the price I had for my original order is worth accepting 700 miles.

Just heard from my SA: "Looks like we anticipate a car completing production for you later this week with an arrival towards the end of the month."

So much for keeping my expectations tempered. It's gonna be a long week.

Ok just got off the phone with SA. Was told that my vehicle has already been built but because of a computer system error, there were several vehicles that had not been paired with a VIN. If you believe what he says, I should be getting my VIN tomorrow or the following day and vehicle should be here by the end of this month. Could all be a bunch of BS and trying not to get my hopes up.

Well you just got my hopes up! I ordered same car except 19", FSD, and 7 seater. Placed 4/12. I'll be so glad when I can stop refreshing the page and/or looking at Tesla page last thing at night and first thing in morning!

How long after ordering did you guys see your date change from a "5-8 weeks" type range to a more specific range?

I've ordered on April 26, after one week I saw June 10 - June 30 then back to 3-7 weeks , then June 16 - June 30 then next day back to 3 - 7 weeks, and after that no updates still showing weeks range, I've ordered LR Silver color

I'm just hoping that this doesn't mean that the cars that were originally produced for us didn't end up getting assigned to others...

Not to crush anyone but my SA told me that maybe towards the end of the month but most likely June still doesn’t have me checking 10-20 times a day on the Tesla site.

yeah this is what i reported a few days back.

I technically have a vin assigned but the system doesn't know about it yet lol
